Hi @Johnpow2,. Thanks for the question! If you are syncing between Macs only, then you may be able to use other sync services, such as SpiderOak. That said, we have not tested these services, and can't provide direct support for troubleshooting anything that might go wrong with them specifically.

SpiderOak Review SpiderOak One Backup is a US-based cloud storage service with a strong focus on privacy. In 2014 NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden urged Guardian readers to stop using Dropbox because it is hostile to privacy. He instead recommended using a zero-knowledge alternative and named SpiderOak. SpiderOak is ranked 7th while Sync is ranked 10th. The most important reason people chose SpiderOak is: The Spideroak client is available for Linux, MacOS, Windows, Android and iOS. Unlike Dropbox, SpiderOak can backup files on hundreds of different computers and sync them up simultaneously. Technically, you can have a gigantic library of different files on countless different computers, and you can upload them from anywhere. SpiderOak, in addition to offering similar sync and remote access options like Dropbox & SugarSync, also offers automated backup of your entire computer. SpiderOak is therefore a bit better than Dropbox/SugarSync if you have a large amount of data that you want to backup, in addition to just some files that you want to sync.

Oct 13, 2014 · SpiderOak is a little different though since SpiderOak does not have the encryption keys to the data at all and only users have the keys to decrypt their files. It would be interesting to know what Edward Snowden thinks of other zero-knowledge cloud storage services like Sync.com and Tresorit .
